On Wednesday, we were taught some traditional lion dancing to celebrate Chinese New Year. We moved with the fans and worked together to walk around with the whole lion! It was amazing!
For our Geography Day, we looked at rain sticks. We talked about which countries they originated from and understood why they were used. We decorated the outside before inserting beads and rice inside!
Year 2 discovered our new topic this half term is Ice! The children had to remove the creature hiding in their ice block!
We have enjoyed learning some Spanish numbers and colours today and particularly enjoyed colouring in Elmer!
Year 2 enjoyed a trip to the canal yesterday, learning all about locks, how they work and even getting to open them for some passing canal boats. The children learnt how to be safe around canals and to always Stay Away From Edges!
On Wednesday 9th May, Year 2 walked to King’s Community Church and to Christ Church. We looked at and compared the two churches and explored the key parts of a C of E Church. This will help us with our RE as we are learning about different places of worship.
