Today (28.11.18) all of Key Stage 2 went to watch the adaptation of David Walliams – Awful Auntie, at the Alexandra Theatre, Birmingham. It was a great experience enjoyed by all. Click to see the theatre.
This afternoon in Emerald class we have been learning about temperature. We first started by discussing our prior knowledge of temperature. We discussed degrees, Celsius, Fahrenheit etc. We then had time to explore and use a thermometer. Afterwards we looked at temperatures around the World and then created a collage to depict a hot…
Today we went on a mammoth hunt! We pretended that we were Stone Age people and threw spears and attacked with axes. It was good fun but many said that if it was real they would be very frightened.
In Emerald we learnt about the soldiers in the war and the significance of the poppy in relation to Flanders Fields. We then created our own mark of remembrance.
In Science we have been investigating a variety of rocks. We have looked at limestones, granites, sandstones, marbles and slate. We performed a scratch test to find out the durability of rocks and then a water test to investigate the permeability of rocks. We had great fun.
Year 3 spent the whole afternoon creating woolly mammoths. We are so pleased with our efforts. We worked in partners and had great fun and success. Here are our finished mammoths for you to admire.
What a fantastic assembly. Emerald class you were amazing, clear voices, excellent acting, dancing and singing. Mrs Millward is very proud of you all for achieving such a high standard today in Perryfields’ 1st class assembly of the year. I hope all your parents were proud too.
Today we have learnt about Germany. We identified where Germany is on a map. We had great fun learning a German folk dance, numbers and letters. You can listen hear for German music. Underneath is our work.
This week we had our first swimming session. We all participated and had great fun. We faced fears, anxieties and worries. Conquering them all! Next week we will have even more time in the pool now that the initial assessments have taken place. Really looking forward to watching Emerald class progress in their swimming abilities.
