Today we have been reading the book Previously by Allen Ahlberg. We have been acting out a part of this story. Everybody had great fun and we all took part. Mrs Millward shouted ‘Freeze Frame’ and our groups had to freeze so that she could guess which part of the story we were acting out….
Today we have create our own miniature Birmingham Bullring Bull. He was very difficult to create but we persevered and collaborated to achieve a variety of results. We had great fun but became a little frustrated at times! We are going to let the ModelAir dry over half term and then paint our Bulls.
This week we have had great fun preparing a chickpea and vegetable curry. We cut onions, peeled and diced carrots, pressed garlic, chopped cauliflower and opened tins. We measured curry powder and cooked it all by following the method. We all took part in stirring the curry as it cooked and then all tasted it….
Emerald have now become reading buddies with reception children in Ruby class. The children have been paired and each week support their buddies to develop their reading skills and enjoyment of books. We have been creating Willow pattern plates because they are produced in Stoke-on-Trent, also known as The Potteries and it ties in with our theme of Birmingham and Beyond. The designer of the Willow pattern was a gentleman, Josiah Wedgwood.
