Sky Class performed their fabulous assembly this week informing everyone about the Anglo-Saxons and their place in British history. Year 3 and 4 children experienced outdoor learning in style last week – staying two nights in glamping pods! Everyone participated with enthusiasm and for many this was their first time away from home. Staff were so impressed with their resilience and positive approach to new challenges. On Wednesday Year 4 Sky came into Amber class and we went outside to listen to each other read. It was a lovely afternoon and both classes enjoyed spending time looking through books.
The remaining children from Ocean and Sky class had a fantastic day designing and making an Anglo Saxon settlement.
Sky Class marked the beginning of May learning the traditional English dance of Maypole dancing. We listened carefully to work together, learning a number of different steps. We then created a whole dance to English country music, creating some lovely patterns with the maypole ribbons.
This half term , Sky class have been learning how to keep safe online. We participated in activities for Safer Internet Day , focusing on the importance of giving consent when using the internet. We have designed our own e-safety posters to inform others of how to be safe online.
As part of the Geography morning, all classes have been using laptops, iPads and atlases to locate countries, capital cities, landmarks, mountain ranges and rivers around Europe.
Today we celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as our favourite book characters. The costumes were amazing! We have spent our day creating our own story boards based on books by Frank Cotterell-Boyce and Steven Lenton where we made our animal characters come to life. Our animals have very interesting jobs!
Sky Class enjoyed their first Forest School session on Friday. They explored their environment, finding plenty of places to hide during a game of hide and seek.
