To celebrate the Year of the Pig, Sky Class participated in some traditional Chinese dancing. We learnt a dance sequence where we had to use fans and then worked together in teams to make the lion dance! It was a very colourful sight. Well done Sky Class.

At the beginning of this term, clues to our new theme appeared in the classroom. A large rucksack was discovered one lunchtime. Sky class discussed each item as it was drawn from the rucksack. A helmet, a pick axe… Mmm.. what could our theme be? Then some crampons and a long rope. Sky class correctly…
Today we have enjoyed our Christmas lunch. We entered into the festive spirit wearing Christmas jumpers and pulling crackers. The cracker jokes were pretty awful!
Throughout this half term, Sky class have been improving their gymnastic skills during our P.E. lessons. We have focused on working together to create some imaginative sequences including balances and travelling. We have also solved problems to create balances using each other to counter balance – very tricky!
In November, children wore their slippers in school to help raise money for the homeless. We enjoyed wearing our warm and cosy slippers knowing that we helping others at the same time.
Today (28.11.18) all of Key Stage 2 went to watch the adaptation of David Walliams – Awful Auntie, at the Alexandra Theatre, Birmingham. It was a great experience enjoyed by all. Click to see the theatre.
Our half -term task was to design and create a Roman helmet. Sky Class did not disappoint! We each presented our design to the whole class, explaining how we made our helmets and what materials we used. There were many inventive creations, each one different to the next.
On Thursday 18th October, Sky Class were lucky enough to be taught some Indian dancing. We learnt some great moves which we put together to create a super dance. We now do this as a warm up in P.E.!
