On Friday, Year 5 had the exciting opportunity of going to the high school to take advantage of their specialist equipment. The children created a nightlight with a working LED by soldering components together. They were all looking forward to trying them out in the dark!
Key Stage 2 had a fantastic time during sports day. Well done to Griffin House for winning the House Cup.
KS 2 had the opportunity to watch the CBSO perform at Symphony Hall. We had an amazing experience and learnt about the instruments of the orchestra and the purpose of the conductor. It was awe inspiring. Thank you Mrs Baker and Miss Bedesha for organising it all. We can’t wait until next year.
Year 5 have been on a trip to the Black Country Museum today. We got to experience a Victorian school lesson as well as what life would have been like for workers in the mines. This term, Sapphire have been helping Year 2 with their reading. Most weeks, Year 5 have been pairing up with children from Year 2 for 20 minutes after lunch on a Tuesday. The children have had the opportunity to listen to their buddies read and ask them questions to help further their understanding.
Sapphire have been making the most of the glorious sunshine. To begin our topic on Victorian art, where we will be looking at Victorian artists and creating our own work in their style, we looked at tones and shading. Children tried various techniques before moving outside to apply what they’d learnt.
This week, 40 children from Years 5 and 6 have visited Plas Gwynant in Snowdonia National Park. Here are some of the views that could be seen during the various activities.
