Clair helps the children, and their families, who may have Special Educational Needs. This involves working with other professional agencies, staff, the children and their families, all for the benefit of the children. Clair is also a champion of Raising Early Achievement in Literacy, (REAL). Clair has organised training for parents interested in early literacy, every parent on the course has said how useful this was with helping them, to help their children, with early literacy skills. This also involves organising workshops for parents and events for children and their families once every term. We have had amazing feedback from all who attended.

Kirsty is our champion of good manners and self-help skills. Should a child need support with their self-help skills Kirsty is there ready and willing to help. Kirsty has so much patience when supporting the children they all know that it does not matter how long they take to achieve their skills, Kirsty is always there ready to give lots of praise and maybe a “happy tick” or 2.

Richelle is our Welcomm Screening lead. Welcomm is a screening tool to help us to understand our children’s use and understanding of language. Each term Richelle will screen the children and depending on the results will implement different activities for the children to do that will help them to develop both their use of language and their understanding of the language that we use. Sometimes the activities are completed in Pre-School and sometimes Richelle will send activity sheets home for the parents/carers to do with their children.

Katy is our PE lead. Each week Katy organises exciting PE lessons which are held in the spacious school hall to help the children extend their fine and gross motor skills. Some weeks this will mean that the children are singing and dancing to rhymes and other weeks it will mean that the children are climbing and crawling around an obstacle course. Each lesson is planned to challenge each child’s different abilities.Having completed her “cooking with under 5’s” training, Katy has also recently taken on the role of cooking/baking lead. Katy is in the process of developing lots of different cooking activities to help challenge our children’s culinary skills as well as introducing children to different foods.
