28th February 2024

On Monday 26th February, Year 4 enjoyed a workshop with Chris from Severn Trent Water.  We have started our topic about rivers and this workshop was all about how water from our rivers in cleaned and treated, making it safe for us to use.  We also learned about sewage and what should and shouldn’t be flushed down the toilet!

We had to work together in groups to filter and clean the water after Chris had added tissue, soap, toothpaste, toys and coco pops to recreate waste water from our homes.  The challenge was to make the water as clean as we could by using a sieve, filter paper and a funnel.  We had lots of fun learning about how water is cleaned and treated!
