Super Soft Toys!

Miss Hill

4th July 2024

Recently we started a new DT project – stuffed toys. We had a lot of fun doing this! We even had a special visitor and volunteer to help us with our sewing… Miss Hill’s grandma – she is an awesome sewer and taught us some skills. Have a look at how we created our soft toys!

First, we had to design what we wanted our stuffed toy to look like and include the extra pieces of fabric as well as buttons. Next, we had to choose our colour and cut round our templates onto our chosen fabric. The next part was the most challenging- we had to begin our running stitch, which allowed use to add our buttons, noses, smiles, ears and more features our toys had. Finally, we had to start the blanket stitch to put our toys together and ensure that the stuffing doesn’t fall out!

Have a look at our designs!
