Perryfields Primary in the Top Three for Sandwell!
Out of 54 Sandwell Primary schools who entered the Fizz Free February Campaign, we are delighted to inform you that Perryfields Primary School was one of the three winners. We promoted the campaign to the whole school (some 384 pupils) to reduce sugar intake leading to better dental hygiene along with the drive to reduce the percentage of obese children by the end of primary school. Activities included an assembly to raise awareness, PHSE lessons in class and a market place event for parents focussing on health and diet (this was part of the parents’ evening offer) and. Added to which Perryfields Primary, with the support of Nicky Taylor (Public Health Development Officer for Oldbury) organised and hosted a market place event for other Oldbury primary schools. Members of our School Council and Mrs Millward, our PHSE Lead also attended this event. The school have won enough Go Fizz Free water bottle for all pupils in Key Stage 2 and a certificate. Our special guest visitors awarded the prizes in Praise Assembly today, Lisa McNally the Director for Public Health Sandwell and Baggie Bird.Fizz
