To support our Theme this term, Year 4 visited Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery on Wednesday to see the Staffordshire Hoard. We looked closely at the Anglo Saxon artefacts that were discovered in a field in Staffordshire in 2009. There were many beautiful examples of the jewellery that would have been worn by the Anglo Saxons 1400 years ago. We were also able to find out more about the life of Anglo Saxons through the examples of tools and weapons and also by dressing up as Anglo Saxons, playing games and researching using the interactive activities. We even had time to visit other parts of the museum where we learnt about the Ancient Egyptians, artists and Birmingham through the ages. Well done to Year 4 for participating so well in a super day.
