Today, Year 4 travelled to Wroxeter to experience walking in Roman footsteps from 2000 years ago. We imagined we were Roman citizens of the city of Viriconium. We explored a Roman Villa and took part in exercises in what would have been the gymnasium before finding out about how the Romans kept clean in the public baths which were heated by a central heating system invented by the Romans called hypocaust. Children impressed their guide (and their teachers!) by their knowledge and their questions about Roman life in Britain. We all enjoyed the day, the sun and the beautiful country side views.
