Last week, we started looking at ‘Instructional texts’. To help us understand instructions better, we read the gingerbread man story and watched a CBBC video on how to make gingerbread men! We discussed utensils, ingredients and of course bossy words (imperative verbs) and time word (time connectives/time adverbials).
We are learning to write instructions and we know that we need to use bossy words such as roll, bake etc. Can you spot the bossy words in the sentences below?
First, knead the dough.
Then, cut out the shapes.
We are looking forward to making some gingerbread men this week!
