For British Science Week, we looked at ‘Our Diverse Planet’ We discussed what this means and talked about the different habitats and locations in our planet. We then discussed cargo boats and linked this with our learning about the Titanic. We had a great afternoon, testing designs to see which boat will hold the most weight, before sinking. We concluded that the boat with the largest surface area (and therefore could balance their marbles equally) was the most stable and held the most weight. This is a great introduction to our new topic of forces which the children are looking forward to learning about.
