Theme – Anglo-Saxons: Savages or Settlers? – Mrs Haydon
Arting – crafting – making – cutting – sticking – drawing – sketching !!!!
As you would normally have a half term learning log activity, I thought I would give you lots of creative options for your half term break.
These are all of the activities I would normally save up until the end of term when we’ve finished everything that needs to be done.
Option 1 – Drawing an Anglo-Saxon artefact in detail.
Download the 1st attachement below and then choose one of the chilli challenges attached at the bottom of this post.
Option 2 – Matching the artefacts to the descriptions.
Download the 2nd attachment below.
Don’t look at page 3 (the answers) until you have completed the task!
Option 3 – Make an Anglo-Saxon brooch.
Download the 3rd attachment below.
Option 4 – Make an Anglo-Saxon settlement.
Watch this BBC Bitesize clip and then download the 4th attachment.
Think about where it would be best to build a settlement.
Think about EVERYTHING you have learnt in Y4 (from our Romans and Mountains and Rivers topics) about where people decide to start living.
Next, Google ‘how to make an Anglo-Saxon settlements’ and have a look at the images for inspiration.
Of course you could do all of them!!
