Hello Magnificent Marmalade Minions!
This week, I thought we could use a break from creative writing and junk modelling (Design and Technology activities). Let’s read, read and read! We would be developing our Reading Comprehension skills this week (VIPERS).
Reading VIPERS is our whole school approach to reading comprehension. It allows children develop skills such as Vocabulary, Inference, Prediction, Explanation, Retrieval and Sequencing.

We’ll be focusing on retrieving information (Rex Retriever), developing our vocabulary ( Vocabulary Victor) and sequencing events (Sequencing Suki).

As I’m sure you can imagine Tommy was thrilled not to have a writing task and he flew through these tasks this morning.

Tommy really enjoyed this task he thought the story was funny.
Tommy wanted to complete the hot challenge also. He enjoyed this too and thought the story was cool.
We looked at the Viper helpers and Tommy told me that the man in the picture for Explanation Ed is Mrs Bakers son.
Oh yes, we had to come up with a character for E-Explanation and all of Marmalade chose Explanation Ed! Well done for completing both challenges!
