Hello Buttercups and Sunflowers,
We hope you are all keeping safe and well.
Unfortunately, you have missed your music lesson with Mrs Stafford this week, but she has sent something for you to try at home:
This half term in music we have been learning to tell the difference between pulse and rhythm.
Pulse is the regular heartbeat of the music. When we clap along in time to music we are ‘clapping the pulse.’
Rhythm is the patterns of long and short sounds in the music. When we clap the syllables in our name or in another word, we are ‘clapping the rhythm’.
Here are some of the songs we’ve been using in class to help us. You can sing and clap along at home – and remember: cool musicians clap on beats 2 and 4, not 1 and 3!
I’ll be there for you:
Can’t stop the feeling:
You got a friend in me:
Have fun clapping along!
