Welcome back Year 2.
We hope you had a really great Half Term break, especially Pancake Day- what did you top your pancakes with? We are all ready for another busy Half Term of learning and will hopefully be seeing you all again soon.
In Maths, you will be starting a new topic looking at division. Mrs Houghton would like to you make sure you have something with you that you can share into groups- this could be Lego, pasta, raisins…whatever you happen to have at home!
English is continuing to look at instructional writing with a focus on recipes. You did brilliantly before the break looking at imperative verbs and sequencing, so today we will be thinking about the features of a recipe in preparation for you writing your own. You will need to have coloured pencils ready to create a colour coded key to identify the different features of a recipe.
Monday is PE afternoon, so get yourself moving! It is important for our physical and mental health to move our bodies as much as we can in as many different ways as we can. We know you all enjoy running round at break times playing Tag or playing PE games with Mr Wilson, but did you know that Dance can be an excellent way to keep ourselves healthy? Why not try some Just Dance routines like these:
Maybe your family could join in too, especially with Footloose and Ghostbusters!
Have a wonderful Monday our Brilliant Buttercups and Super Sunflowers,
Mrs Taylor and Mrs Houghton
