Good morning to Buttercups and Sunflowers!
Thank you for being so patient yesterday during our online lessons when there were a few technical issues – you were all very sensible. Let’s hope things are working a bit better today!
In Maths today, we will be carrying on with sharing into equal groups to help with our division skills. There are three chilli challenges to choose from, as well as some Reasoning and Problem Solving questions if you would like even more of a challenge! You can still share your objects practically to help you, just like we practised yesterday.
For English today, Mrs Taylor would like you to focus on time conjunctions. These are words which tell us when something happens. They can be used in instructions to help with the sequence. Here are two activities about time conjunctions – both of them have two different levels so choose the one that suits you.
For our Theme lesson today, we will be learning more about the Aztecs, who were conquered by Hernando Cortes and his men when they travelled to Mexico. Mrs Taylor has invited you to an online lesson at 2.15pm today to help you with this.
Below is a link to a website which provides more information.
The Aztecs were fierce warriors, who wore large head dresses and carried shields. Today, we would like you to design your own Aztec shield. Can you research Aztec shields and find some examples to help you? You could design your shield on a paper plate if you have one, or you could draw it on paper or make it out of cardboard. We look forward to seeing your fabulous designs!
Have a lovely day, Year 2!
Love from Mrs Houghton and Mrs Taylor
