Year 2 have been enjoying practical maths learning this week to help us read different scales. Today we have been measuring mass using g and kg.
We used this as an opportunity to develop our mathematical vocabulary by discussing our weighing using words such as heavier, lighter, grams, kilograms and mass.
Working through a carousel of activities, we became more confident reading scales of differing intervals and in comparing two objects using appropriate vocabulary. We even had to work out that one scale was marked in 200g intervals!
