This week we went on an adventure to Africa. as you know, we have been reading ‘All Aboard for the Bobo Road by Stephen Davies and Christopher Corr.
We explored the landmarks in Burkina Faso where the story is set. We learnt about animals that can be found in Africa and watched clips of the African safari. We also looked how people dress and learnt to name some of the different items of clothing. Can you guess who dressed up in the African attires?
At end of this week, we listened to some Music from Burkina Faso and watched the popular drum dance. We played some African drums and learnt to sing some African songs like Che Che Kule and A Keelie Makolay which are originally from Ghana. We also made some African necklaces and landscape paintings!
Finally, we explored some fruits and vegetables from Africa! We looked at yams, plantains, watermelons, mangoes, papayas, passion fruits and pineapples!
Oh, the fruits were delicious!blog poppy
