Our text for this week was Rosie’s Walk. We were all amazed by how much learning the children received from such a short picture story!
We learnt about parts of a book, prepositions, adjectives, farms including animals and farm buildings such as barns, wind mills etc. We also discussed bees and what makes them such unique creatures! Finally, we described the characters and sequenced events in the story.
In Maths, we took a deeper dive into Place Value. We explored representing values and amounts. We learnt to count objects accurately. For larger numbers, we counted by grouping or by counting in tens and fives.
As part of our celebration of Black History Month, our morning music this week, was a collection of songs by Aretha Franklin. We also played the African drums and not to mention Tina’s fantastic spread of Jamaican cuisine for lunch. Yum!
To end the week, we all danced to ‘I knew you were waiting’ by George Micheal and Aretha Franklin- one of Miss Maskell’s favourites!
BLOG PICTURESOh! We had a blast this week!
A big well done to all our amazing children for their hard work this week. Have a lovely weekend!
