Last Thursday, Year 2 visited the historic and beautiful Selly Manor house, as part of our learning in Theme. Last half term our topic was FIRE and Year 2 learnt lots of amazing facts about the Great Fire of London!
Mrs Taylor and Mrs Houghton were blown away by all the facts and information that Year 2 could recall and explain to the guides at the museum.
Take a look at what they got up to…
We re-enacted what happened when the fire started on Pudding Lane on Sunday 2nd September 1666.
We then had the chance to dress up as if we were living in 1666 and played with toys the children would have had then.
Next we had a walk around the Manor and learnt about how they would have lived in 1666.
This is what Thomas Farriner’s oven would have been like. The fire started here when embers fell out of the oven because the maid had not put it out properly.
We had a fantastic day!
