This year our children have been growing lots of different fruit and vegetables. Our most successful crop was our potatoes. In May we planted our seed potatoes, then the children watered them every week. Eventually they grew big green leaves and the potatoes got bigger and bigger under the compost. Last week some of the children harvested the potatoes from the grow bags. We had to search through all the compost to find them and it was great fun, we found loads and loads. We asked Tina, our school cook if she would roast them for us (thank you Tina) and ate them for snack today, dipped in tomato sauce. They tasted amazing!
