In pre-school we were very lucky to have some chicken eggs to hatch. We watched the eggs hatch, the children were fascinated that such a big chick could fit into such a small egg. Then we looked after the chicks and watched them grow. All the children got to stroke a chick and we even invited families to come in after school to see them too. The chicks have now gone to their new home but our children loved the whole experience.
