On Thursday, we celebrated the International Day for Tolerance by sharing a book called ‘Journey to the Beginning of the World’ by Virginia McLean. It helped us to understand that people from different cultures believe different things about the way the world began. The book’s message was that we can all have different beliefs and opinions and still get along if we respect each other. By being tolerant, we can make the world a happier place.
We wrote about some of the creation stories we had heard – from Chinese to Hindu and from Christian to scientific. We discussed the similarities, as well as the differences, between the stories.
