Year 1 spent a day at the RAF Museum Cosford and it was such a delight. We were blown away by all the many activities that made our day fun. From the amazing weather to the magnificent aeroplanes and flying machines, we could not ask for more. We explored a range of aircraft and learnt about man’s first encounter with space. We saw clips of Neil Armstrong on the moon and pictures of space rockets including Apollo 11. We had a bit of role play; pretending to be pilots, cabin crew and passengers and we boarded an aeroplane to Mexico. The highlight of out day was sitting in an old naval aeroplane and pretending to fly! We loved seeing the wings flap as we moved the controls. What a remarkable way to consolidate our theme on Flight!
