As part of our Theme topic, we have been learning all about mummification and the beliefs the Egyptians had about their pharaohs, Gods and Goddesses.
We throroughly enjoyed learning about the mummification process (especially the part about taking the brain out!). We learnt that the Egyptians would take out the organs of the person who was being mummified and placed them in special jars, called canopic jars.
We have been using our designing skills and art skills to create our own canopic jars.
We first used clay to mould the heads for our canopic jars.
We then painted them.
And finally we created the bottom part of the jar using a range of materials.
