This afternoon, Years 5 and 6 joined forces to experience a range of lessons. PE, English games and Art were on the menu and a great time was had by all. We were working in mixed Year 5 and 6 groups which meant we got to work alongside children that we might not have spent time with before, allowing us the chance to develop new friendships.
In our Art session, we were learning about the work of American artist Keith Haring who is famous for his bold, simplistic artwork based on the movement of people. You may have seen some work similar to his in the Change 4 Life campaign. Since this was our first session, we looked at how we can show people in different poses through the use of simple stick people. This will enable us to build on these images next week to add the detail associated with Haring, before planning and producing our own art work based on his.
Look at our use of bold colours that are similar to those used by Pop Artists such as Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. We think we did a great job!
