Today we had the opportunity to learn Indian Dancing. We all had a fantastic time learning the moves and mudra hand gestures. Everyone joined in and had lots of fun.
Today Year 3 spent the morning creating some music linked to our theme Egypt. We listened (and sang!) the Walk like an Egyptian and worked out all the musical instruments in the song. Also, we walked through time to discover the History of Birmingham from our previous theme Birmingham and Beyond. We had an amazing time and discovered many amazing facts!
We are currently learning all about Egypt. Yesterday we became embalmers and learnt how the Ancient Egyptians mummified their pharaohs. Did you know they pull their brains out through their nose? We then had a go at mummifying our friends! Which ‘mummy’ do you think is the best?
We were very lucky to have the opportunity to try maypole dancing on May 1st. We all had a fantastic time, skipping and dancing around the pole. Some of us enjoyed it so much we danced our feet off!

For science week we conducted an experiment to make the newt from Matilda move without us touching it. We used balloons to create static electricity to lift up our ‘newts’ that we had created from tissue paper. We had lots of fun making our experiment. We especially found it funny when our hair stood up!
Today we have dressed up as our favourite book characters for World Book Day. Everyone in Willow looked amazing and put lots of effort into their costume. We have had a fantastic day, we also visited Poppy class to share our love for reading.
