On Monday 17th June, Year 5 stepped back in time and visited the Black Country Living Museum. We learned all about what life was like for children in Victorian times, as well as taking a trip down the mine. It was a great day!
This week, Year 5 have designed and made Maths games for Year 2 children. We worked really hard creating the games then we shared them with our Year 2 friends on Friday morning. Everyone had great fun playing the games and practising their maths skills!

We had great fun on Friday when we dressed up as Victorians and found out what school life was like for Victorian children. Today, Warburtons came into school to visit Denim Class. We learned about healthy eating before making our own sandwiches and tasting different Warburtons products. Everyone enjoyed the session – even wearing the green food hygiene hats! We even got to take home some Toaster Pockets to try! Click on the image to see some photographs.
Today, Years 5 and 6 took part in a range of workshops linking to Safeguarding. We learned a great deal about how we can keep ourselves safe as we are growing up. Please click on image to see photographs.
Today we celebrated European Day of Languages by finding out about life and culture in Italy. We also had fun learning some Italian words and phrases. Buona sera a tutti!
As part of our Vikings Theme we have been learning about Scandinavia. In our art lesson this week, we used chalk pastels to create images of the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis). They look fantastic!
In Denim Class this term, we are learning about Earth and Space in our Science lessons. So far we have learned about the movement of the Earth and why we have night and day. The children are really interested in the topic and have lots of challenging questions!
