Today in Amber we have been creating our Gruffalo characters from clay. We manipulated, modelled and used tools to produce them. We are extremely proud of our efforts. After half term we will be painting them for even more effect.
Today we have had the experience and opportunity to learn some Bollywood dance moves. We had a very enjoyable time and learnt that Bollywood dancing comes from a city in India called Mumbai.
In Science we have been looking at plants and the environments in which they grow. We have recreated the best environment to see if our seeds will grow. We have planted some spinach seeds.
Today (11th October) we invited our parents into our classroom to look at all our work we have achieved in our topic of ‘The Gruffalo.’
Today we have been using our Numicon resources to create animals and objects with a total value of 26. Here are some of our independent creations. We found 26 quite difficult to achieve!
Today we have been looking at numbers 1-10 in different European languages. We looked at Spain, Portugal, Poland, France and Greece. We learnt the numbers in French, ordered them and then Mrs Jones (Headteacher) came to see our performance. We then listened to Mrs Jones count in Greek. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
This morning Amber class took part in a medicine awareness assembly by DECCA. They learnt the importance of medicines, how to keep safe and who to trust with medicine. The assembly was very informative and entertaining.
In Science this week we have been learning about wild plants. We have learnt that wild plants establish themselves and are seen as weeds when they settle in the wrong area. They also spread rapidly and self-seed. We counted how many we found and drew images of their flowers. It was great fun.
This week we have been learning to represent numbers in a variety of ways using a range of resources. We have become competent users of numicon and cusinaire rods.
Today in Amber class we became detectives. We came back from assembly to find wet footprints by our classroom door and that a chair had been pulled out from under the table.
