Year 4 Ocean got creative designing and creating their own catapults this morning. They had fun testing their products using paper missiles! Thank you to everyone for making this year such a memorable one. I hope you all have a super summer holiday! Miss Bedesha
We have enjoyed a morning of French in Year 4 Ocean. After exploring the landmarks of Paris using images and maps, children plotted their top 5 tourist attractions on individual maps. We then enjoyed a pan au chocolat before creating colourful menus and practising our speaking and listening skills.
All children took part in our annual sports day yesterday morning. Many congratulations to Griffins (Yellow House group) for winning yet again. Well done to everyone who took part and demonstrated super sportsmanship!
Jaeden has been extremely busy and working hard to achieve swimming glory. He has successfully achieved Stage 1 and 2 awards and has progressed to Stage 3. This is marvellous effort Jaeden. Well done!
Today we were excited to visit the red book bus that parked up in our playground. Lots of children had money to spend on beautiful new books. Here we are with our purchases. Happy reading everyone!
To support our Theme this term, Year 4 visited Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery on Wednesday to see the Staffordshire Hoard. We looked closely at the Anglo Saxon artefacts that were discovered in a field in Staffordshire in 2009. There were many beautiful examples of the jewellery that would have been worn by the Anglo…
Year 4 were enthralled with a visit from Oldbury watch firefighters. They showed us the devastating impact of fires, how to help in such situations and warned against the dangers associated with hoax calls. All children watched a demonstration of the ‘stop, drop and roll’ technique and some children were chosen to model this which…
Issy, who has a pet snake called Kaa, very generously brought in the skin she had shed. The children were fascinated but Miss Bedesha sought refuge in the group room! As the photo shows the thin skin is translucent with brownish patches. Thank you Issy for sharing this with the class.
Girls from Ocean shared their Brownie Badge endeavours with the class. They are all working hard to fill their sashes as you can see. Georgia has recently achieved her language badge and for this she learnt BSL which she confidently demonstrated to everyone. Keep up this wonderful work.
It was with great sadness we said goodbye to lovely Emma-Louise. We held a little outdoor party for her and despite the tears there was laughter as we remembered our favourite highlights. Many focused on her infectious giggle and tight hugs as she is a very affectionate and caring little girl. However, we wish her…
