On Monday 17th June, Year 5 stepped back in time and visited the Black Country Living Museum. We learned all about what life was like for children in Victorian times, as well as taking a trip down the mine. It was a great day!
In English, we’ve been using some drama techniques to help us decide what we think the main character (Jim) from our story (Street Child) should do next. We gave different sides of the argument and during this activity before starting our writing.
This week, Year 5 have designed and made Maths games for Year 2 children. We worked really hard creating the games then we shared them with our Year 2 friends on Friday morning. Everyone had great fun playing the games and practising their maths skills!

We’ve had another fun-filled day at Plas Gwynant in the glorious sunshine. Different groups carried out different activities such as mountain climbing, canoeing, boulder climbing, beach exploration and gorge walking. We faced some challenges and learnt new things. Despite a delayed journey (due to being stuck behind a windmill transport!) we arrived at Plas around 2pm. Children have since had time to explore the beautiful setting and are looking forward to their first day of activities.
We had great fun on Friday when we dressed up as Victorians and found out what school life was like for Victorian children.
