We’ve had another fun-filled day at Plas Gwynant in the glorious sunshine. Different groups carried out different activities such as mountain climbing, canoeing, boulder climbing, beach exploration and gorge walking. We faced some challenges and learnt new things. Despite a delayed journey (due to being stuck behind a windmill transport!) we arrived at Plas around 2pm. Children have since had time to explore the beautiful setting and are looking forward to their first day of activities.
This afternoon, Year 5 had the opportunity to try Maypole Dancing. We all enjoyed ourselves!
To start with, we discussed and learnt about tectonic plates, earthquakes and more. We then had to persevere to draw a 3D design. After that, we collaborated as a group to create out model. We then tested our models using jelly to see if they could withstand the shaking. To finish, we evaluated the process.
As part of the Geography morning, all classes have been using laptops, iPads and atlases to locate countries, capital cities, landmarks, mountain ranges and rivers around Europe.
Well done to the children from Year 5 Sapphire who raised over £100 for Comic Relief!

Today it was World book day!! We all dressed as book characters and did some activities. We all had fun!! We had some costumes like Harry potter, Matilda characters and some Midnight Gang characters!!! We definitely had fun!!!!! By Faith and Xin
