Ocean class explored a range of containers – some with integral or hinged lids and others with lids that slotted shut or were separate. We cut around nets to create cubes and consider how the tabs were placed on certain sides before designing nets for a container and a separate lid. It was a real challenge and all children had to use resilience and perseverance. Everyone agreed it was difficult to visualise the completed shape but it was enormously satisfying to see the 2D shape come to life. The faces were decorated in keeping with our Roman theme and I’m sure you will agree the children have worked hard to create their containers.
