Hello to all of our Brilliant Buttercups and Super Sunflowers that are learning from home at the moment. We miss you, but hope you and your families are ok.
This is your English learning for the week, it is linked to our new Theme- I wonder if you can guess what it is!
We welcomed new members of our classes this week, Percy joined Buttercups and his cousin Pablo joined Sunflowers. Click on the letter below to read:
Lesson One: Think of questions you would like to ask the penguin visitor. Write them down, remembering to use a question mark at the end of your sentence.
Lesson Two: Draft a letter in reply, telling them all about you and asking them some of the questions you have thought of. Remember, a draft is our first attempt at a piece of writing. It doesn’t have to be perfect as you will edit it in the next lesson.
Lesson Three and Four: Using a different coloured pen/pencil, can you change any spelling mistakes or missed punctuation? When you have done that, write it up in your very best handwriting. Remember to leave spaces between words and think about using phonics to help with spelling.
Here is a template to help you:
THEME: Continents of the world.
Listen to this song as an introduction to the continents of the world, you may have heard it before!
Using the map we have provided, can you correctly label the continents? As an extra challenge, could you label some of the Oceans and Seas too?
If you want, you could even do some research about where our penguin friends live- Antarctica.
Remember to read your School book and have a go at learning your 2, 5, 10 and 3 times tables too.
We can’t wait to see you back in school soon,
Love
Mrs Taylor and Mrs Houghton
