Hello Year 4,

You home learning for English this week is to begin planning a new ending for your Escape From Pompeii story.

Can you read through the story

Now can you label the different features of a story e.g. the introduction, the build up, the problem, the solution and the ending. Please also look for fronted adverbials, conjunctions, dialogue and  interesting adjectives in the story. You could print and write on the story or make a list of the features on a separate piece of paper.

Can you then draft your own ideas for what could happen after Livia and Tranio are sat in the boat  watching Pompeii disappear. This will be the beginning of your story. So your story will start with They had just left in time…

Now use the story mountain to plan what will happen in your story.
