On Friday, we had an enrichment day in school. In Year 4, we focused on structures – in particular, bridges. We looked at different types of bridges from around the world and discussed ways to make a bridge stronger. We experimented with simple beam and arch bridges first and then tried using triangular shapes to add strength. We then set a challenge! The children worked in groups to create a bridge that could hold 1kg of weight without collapsing. They collaborated well and worked really hard to achieve success! Here are some of our bridges…
