Hello Year 2,
As part of Children’s Mental Health Week, we are having a No Screen Day on Wednesday 3rd February – both in school and at home!
Instead of accessing online lessons and resources on this day, we would like you to enjoy some time away from the screen, taking part in practical activities.
For Maths, you could try one of these ideas:
- Use a tape measure to measure different parts of your body.
- Use your measuring skills to follow a simple recipe.
- Make a picture or model using different shapes.
For English, your challenge is to make a ‘book nook’ – a special, relaxing place for you to enjoy reading books. This could be in your bedroom using pillows and cushions, or in another part of your house or garden.
Chocolate Factory Challenge
Your final screen-free activity is to create your very own chocolate factory – just like Willy Wonka’s! You can choose to make it out of junk materials, lego, building blocks or anything else you can think of! We look forward to seeing your wonderful ideas and creations.
Please send us some photographs so that we can see everything you have managed to do without a screen!
Have fun!
Love from Mrs Houghton and Mrs Taylor
