To continue our Olympic Week, Year One have been learning about the artwork from a continent represented in the Games.

Our continent was Oceania and we have been learning about Aboriginal Art and Dream Time stories.  Aboriginal People are indigenous to Australia which means they have lived there since before the Western World discovered the island. They have their own set of beliefs and traditions, one of which are the Dream Time stories which are tales about creation based on these beliefs.

We looked at The Rainbow Serpent and then created art in the style of Aboriginal artists. We had to think carefully about our use of colour and patterns, but we think we have done an amazing job of producing beautiful and colourful art.
