Year 5 have started a new learning journey in Maths- we are measuring Perimeter using centimetres and millimetres, we even tried to convert between the two measures!
Today, we were practising our accurate measuring in preparation for the trickier challenges ahead. We had to measure our worms to the nearest whole cm, then using one decimal place. This allowed us to use decimal notation in a new way. Our next step was to try measuring perimeter of rectilinear shapes which meant we had to add small and decimal numbers.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tasks today and now feel prepared for the learning ahead!
