This week, Year 1M went on a wild plant hunt on our playgrounds and around our school. We now know that a wild plant is one that grows by itself; it does not need to be planted or cared for as it grows. We identified the different plants/ wild plants and filled in our recording sheets by tallying or ticking. We then analysed the information and found out that grass, dandelions, buttercups and daisies are the most common plants in our school. Now, we can name some common wild plants found in the United Kingdom such as brambles, nettles and poppies!
