This week in Year One, we have been working hard to apply our phonics in our learning. We have phonics every morning to help our reading and to help us spell in our written work.
Today, we had to use our BLP muscles of noticing and collaboration to find missing letters in a word. There was more than one way to complete some of the words and so we had to think carefully about which word we chose. It was interesting to hear our friends suggest different ideas and it really meant we had to use our phonics knowledge.
Our other activities included finding rhyming pairs and matching words to pictures. Year One are steadily becoming more confident and accurate in our spellings and we know this will help us on our way to becoming fluent readers too!
